Full Description
The tour begins in Midleton, at the trail‑head of the brand new Midleton‑to‑Youghal Greenway. You will be kitted out with E-Bikes, helmets and everything neccessary to begin your voyage. Following your expert guide, you'll set off on an approximately 23km off-road route that covers East Cork's beauty.
Along the trail, you will passby multiple points of interest such as The Midleton Distillery Experience, famous for Jameson Whiskey, Glenbower Woods a native patch of Irish woodlands and Ballyvergan West which is home to the allyvergan Marsh. This is one of the biggest natural reed beds in Europe. Each stop and interest has been curarted perfectly to capture both history and beauty. Small communities like Mogeely and Killeagh give a flavour of rural life in Cork, and you’ll also see memorials like the Kindred Spirits — the Choctaw Native American Monument - which carries a poignant story linked to famine relief during the 19th century.
Throughout the journey, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to pause and capture memorable moments, with scenic photo stops along the way. At Youghal, you’ll have a relaxed coffee break with coastal views, giving you time to stretch your legs, enjoy the seaside air, and taste the local liquid energy. This stop offers the longest break of the tour, allowing ample time to explore the historic seaside town. Rich in heritage, Youghal features medieval walls, a striking clock tower, and beautifully preserved old buildings that tell the story of its past.
