Experience the charm of alpaca trekking in Northern Ireland at Ballyburren Outdoor Escapes, a purpose-built outdoor activity centre set in the picturesque countryside near Ballynahinch. This one-of-a-kind experience invites you to walk alongside gentle alpacas while exploring a beautifully designed 1.4km trail through farmland, woodland, and tranquil wetlands.
Ideal for nature lovers and those looking for unique things to do in County Down, this alpaca walking experience offers a perfect mix of relaxation, light activity, and animal interaction. Each session begins with an introduction to the alpacas, where you’ll learn about their personalities, behaviour, and how to lead them safely.
As you stroll at a relaxed pace, you’ll take in scenic views, cross small bridges, and enjoy the calming atmosphere of the countryside. Alpacas are naturally gentle and curious animals, making this experience both fun and therapeutic for all ages.
Towards the end of your trek, you’ll have time to unwind at a unique coffee trailer set on a small island, where refreshments and optional picnic upgrades are available, adding a special touch to your day out.
