16 September 2026

Start in Bray, Katie Taylor’s hometown

If you're a Katie Taylor fan, a trip to Bray feels like a natural place to start.

Katie was born and raised in the seaside town, and Bray has always been closely associated with her story. But even if you're not making the trip specifically because of the fight, Bray is well worth an afternoon.

It's an easy place to get a feel for the Irish coast, with the seafront, Bray Head and plenty of cafés, pubs and restaurants to explore. It's also one of those places where you don't need a packed itinerary - sometimes a stroll along the promenade and a bit of time by the sea is exactly what you need.

If you'd like to turn your visit into an activity, there's a fun option available through DoIreland.

See Bray on a Mission Impossible trail

The Bray Mission Impossible is a self-guided mystery trail that takes you around the town solving clues and completing challenges as you go.

We think it's a particularly good fit for a group of friends or families because you get to explore Bray without feeling like you're simply ticking off tourist attractions. The trail covers around 4km and takes roughly 90 minutes, taking in the seafront and some of the town's architecture along the way.

It's also completely self-guided, so you can fit it around the rest of your day rather than having to work around a tour departure time.
