From conventional trad music to iconic pop, Ireland’s festival calendar is buzzing with some of the best music events around.
Kicking things off in the southwest, the West Cork Chamber Music Festival is a treat for lovers of classical and chamber music. Set in the beautiful town of Bantry, it offers intimate concerts that showcase incredible musicians from around the world. Featuring 60 concerts over 10 days, the festival is perfect for locals and international audiences.
The scenery here alone is worth the trip. While you’re in Cork, why not make the most of your visit by exploring some local adventures? Take a boat tour to Spike Island, enjoy a scenic bike tour around Cork City, or get your adrenaline pumping at the zipline adventure park. It’s a great way to balance world-class music with some unforgettable experiences.
Next up is the Kaleidoscope Festival in Wicklow, which focuses on fresh and emerging Irish talent, alongside some cool international names. It’s a small but vibrant festival, great for discovering new sounds in a scenic setting.
Staying around for longer, or driving up before the festival? You could try the Hollywood Pony Trekking for a fun outdoor adventure, visit the Powerscourt Distillery to sample some local spirits, or even go on the unique Prosecco and Alpaca Trek. You can enjoy the countryside while making memories along the way.
Back in the capital, Longitude Festival usually brings the biggest names in pop, hip-hop, and electronic music. This year’s lineup includes the legendary DJs David Guetta, Sonny Fodera and Blk, along with rap icons 50 Cent and AJ Tracey ready to bring the energy.
While you’re there, keep an eye out for all the best tours and attractions such as DoDublin’s Hop on Hop off Bus, the EPIC museum and Trinity College!
For something more traditional, Belfast TradFest is a whole week of celebrating Irish folk music, dance, and storytelling. It’s a fantastic chance to dive into the rich culture and heritage of Northern Ireland.
