3 Day Itinerary for your trip to Galway!

colourful irish village

Galway City is definitely not one to miss when taking a visit to Ireland. From its beautiful streets filled with flowers and colour to its lively nightlife and historic background, Galway has something to offer for everyone looking to explore.

We have created a three day itinerary filled with our favourite activities for you to use to help with making the most of your time here.

Day 1

Morning

Starting off strong on day 1, you will start your day off with a morning walking tour of Galway City which will show you around the stunning Latin Quarter then making your way to the Spanish arch while also getting to visit St. Nicholas’s Collegiate church and much more!. If you are a true history lover and are craving even more information on this historic city you can take the Revolutionary Galway Walking Tour or the Galway 1916 Tour, both guaranteed to satisfy your true Irish history learning cravings. Keeping on trend with exploring the city you can then take a guided language tour Galway city in the late afternoon where you will indulge in the Irish language, learning everything from how it originated to a few local words (which you can put to use in the pub later that night !!)

Afternoon

After all the learning you will probably be peckish, this is when you take the Daytime Food Tour, which will bring you around Galway tasting a variety of delicious local delicacies from fresh seafood to artisanal cheeses and local treats. You will also get the opportunity to meet the chefs who created the beautiful food for you (here is another opportunity for you to put that Irish language knowledge to use)

Evening

Take some time to relax and unwind back at your Accommodation before you go back out to the streets to experience some Irish nightlife culture. Trad on the Prom and the Irish Dance Experience are two great nighttime activities filled with high energy, Irish culture and some good old fashioned fun.

Day 2

Morning

Start off day two with a beautiful scenic tour to the iconic cliffs of Moher, arrive early and beat the crowds to ensure you get the best views of Irelands breathtaking display of natures beauty. You could also embark on a journey along the wild Atlantic way for some more astonishing views of the most beautiful island. If these don’t seem like the perfect day two plans you could also take a guided biodiversity walk and learn all about the hidden wonders of nature. If you are still not keen on these 3 options (you must be hard to please), however we do have another idea for you, take part in a seashore safari tour. This tour is guaranteed to leave you feeling, refreshed, educated and with a big smile.

Spend the afternoon in the Atlantic water instead of looking at it with Kayaking, Paddle boarding or even try out scuba diving!! No experience needed however you will need to bring some warm clothes for after because unfortunately the Irish coastal water does not compare to the tropical waters of the Mediterranean when it comes to temperature.

Evening

After another busy day you are going to need to relax and unwind and we have the perfect evening trip or you. Hop on the Galway Craft Beer Tour and have a few beers to get you ready for bed. Alternatively, if you aren’t the biggest fan of beer, you can do the Galway whiskey tour where you will get to sample premium whiskeys in Galway city’s cosiest pubs.

Day 3

Morning

Hopefully you aren’t feeling too bad after the final tours of yesterday 😉! and even if you are I hope it was worth it as we embark on the journeys of your final day in the astonishing Galway city (and beyond).

Firstly you will hop aboard a ferry and escape to the tranquil Aran Islands for a day trip to Inisheer. Here you will see how the true Irish locals live with small quaint coffee shops, plenty of pubs and lots of fun. You can also learn some history about the islands while looking at some fabulous landscapes. If this doesn’t sound like something you would like (think again)… Only pulling your leg!! We have another trip waiting for you to take you through the rugged landscapes of Connemara & Kylemore Abbey. Here you will still get the tranquillity you are looking for with views of lakes and mountains all around.

If you are feeling mysterious or you’ve always wanted to be a detective (we don’t judge) the Galway City Detective Mystery Tour was practically made for you. Only1.5 hours long it is the perfect activity to squeeze into your last day, and will no doubt leave you feeling like Sherlock Holmes by the end of the tour.

End your city trip with a delicious meal in one of Galway’s many delicious restaurants. Don’t forget if you skipped the drinking tours last night to do them while you can and join us for a Galway beer tour or the Galway whiskey tour!

_______________________________________________________

If you struggled to fit all the activities you wanted in don’t stress, we have tours that will take you to visit the Cliffs Of Moher from Dublin’s City Centre for a full day trip. We also have a day tour that will take you to the Aran Islands for a Day Tour by train which is the perfect way to as the Irish say ‘ have your cake and eat it’.

We hope you enjoy your trip to Galway!!

Irish: Feicfidh mé thú go luath!

English: See you soon!
