There will then be a safety demonstration to ensure participants safety is of paramount importance. Before embarking on their creative journey, attendees will participate in a safety demonstration. This demonstration will cover the necessary precautions and guidelines to be followed while working with fused glass and enameling techniques.
Making a Large Fused Glass Piece: The first part of the day will involve participants creating a large fused glass piece. Fused glass is a technique where different pieces of glass are combined and melted together in a kiln to create a unique design. Participants will have the opportunity to explore their creativity by choosing colors, shapes, and patterns to craft their own distinctive fused glass artwork.
Lunch Break: Following the morning session dedicated to creating fused glass pieces, there will be a lunch break. Participants can use this time to relax and possibly socialize with others attending the workshop. Lunch may be included as part of the voucher, providing an opportunity to refuel before the afternoon session.
Making an Enamelled Glass Piece: In the afternoon, participants will have the opportunity to create an enamelled glass piece. Enamelling involves applying powdered glass to a glass surface and then firing it in a kiln to produce a vibrant, durable coating. Participants will learn the techniques and processes involved in enamelling and will create another artistic piece to take home.
Throughout the day, instructors or experienced artists will be on hand to guide participants, offering tips, inspiration, and assistance as needed. By the end of the experience, participants will have created two unique glass artworks—one fused glass piece and one enamelled glass piece—that they can proudly display or gift to someone special.
