This day tour is lead by a Gaeilgeóir who offers an invaluable insight into the Connemara area through his expertise which never fail to add depth and richness to these excursions. Jim's fluency in Irish brings a personal touch and memorable moments to the day as he dives into Irish place names, known as Logainmneacha.

 

Venturing west across the River Corrib, you'll officially find yourself in Connemara. Fortunately, Connemara sprawls widely making the coastal route unforgettable and authentic. The traditional Connemara Gaeltacht, where Irish takes precedence as the primary language will be uncovered in an engaging and exciting way.

 

Visitors can also get the opportunity to explore its southern reaches, with fishing potential, rugged landscapes and blanket bogs. Then, continue your northern journey to behold the Maamturk Mountain range, and press on even further north to behold the breathtaking Twelve Pins and the charming town of Clifden.

 

The overall tour proposes a variety of places of interest including An Spidéal – Spiddal home of the Morris Clan and the recording location for The Waterboys album Fisherman's Blues, Maam Cross known as the second largest lake in Ireland, and many more special stops.
