Itinerary

Day 1

The day begins in Belfast as the tour departs north towards Carrickfergus, one of Northern Ireland's oldest towns, renowned for its well-preserved Norman castle. A brief stop allows for photos of this impressive stronghold before proceeding to Glenarrif Forest Park.

At Glenarrif, known as the ‘Queen of the Glens,’ visitors can explore the stunning Glens of Antrim, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Options include enjoying a tea or coffee at the Tea Room or walking the easy 1.5km Waterfall Trail, offering beautiful views and a true off-the-beaten-track experience.

The journey continues north via the winding Torr Head, providing spectacular coastal views, including a glimpse of Scotland's Mull of Kintyre. The tour makes a stop in the charming seaside town of Ballycastle for lunch and free time before following the impressive Causeway Coastal Route. Highlights include photo opportunities and a visit to the Giant’s Causeway, the highlight of this scenic drive.

At the day's end, visitors will explore the Giant’s Causeway, where myth, history, and science converge at this striking geological marvel. The debate over its origins—whether science or legend—adds to its intrigue.

The tour then heads to Bushmills Distillery for an optional whiskey tasting before a quick photo stop at the dramatic Dunluce Castle, famously enhanced with CGI as Castle Greyjoy in Game of Thrones. The day concludes with arrival in the charming seaside town of Portrush for an overnight stay.

Day 2

Depart from Portrush to the historic city of Derry/Londonderry. Known for its nearly intact city walls and murals reflecting its recent past, Derry is also emerging as a vibrant cultural hub. Visitors can explore the city independently or join an optional walking tour.

Next, the tour heads to Dunree Head, accessed via a scenic clifftop route offering breathtaking views over Dunree Beach, Lough Swilly, and the Fanad Peninsula. History enthusiasts can explore the Dunree Fort military museum.

The journey continues through Mamore Gap, one of Ireland’s most picturesque drives, with a photo stop at an iconic viewpoint. The day concludes in Donegal Town, where guests will stay for two nights, with additional stops based on weather and group interests before a well-deserved break.

Day 3

Journey along the Wild Atlantic Way, one of the longest coastal trails in the world, stretching 1600 miles along Ireland’s west coast. Various stops will be made depending on weather and interests, heading towards Bunbeg for a lunch stop in this Gaeltacht town, where Irish is the predominant language.

The tour continues along the Wild Atlantic Way, showcasing stunning coastal views and islands, before reaching Glenveagh National Park. Here, guests will have ample time to explore the park’s rugged Derryveagh Mountains, dramatic Glenveagh Castle, and picturesque Glenveagh Valley. Options include walking along Lough Veagh or taking a shuttle bus to explore the castle, offering a chance to experience the park’s natural beauty.

Day 4

Dive into the Wild Atlantic Way, starting with the Slieve League Cliffs, which plunge 600 meters into the ocean. These towering cliffs are among the highest in Europe and are rich in legend.

Travel continues through the remote, Irish-speaking communities, leading to a scenic mountain pass at Glengesh. The route then reaches the picturesque village of Ardara for lunch.

The journey concludes with a drive to Enniskillen, arriving in the late afternoon. This charming town, set on an island in Lough Erne, offers a beautiful setting and ample time for exploration before an overnight stay.

Day 5

On the final day, bid farewell to the charming island town and proceed to Hillsborough Castle. Explore its beautiful gardens, tranquil woodlands, and picturesque glens, which have delighted the Royal Family and countless visitors. Optional tours of the castle’s elegant state rooms and its rich history are available (subject to ticket availability), and there’s also the chance to enjoy lunch on-site.

Afterwards, make a brief return to Belfast, where you can choose between visiting the Titanic Museum in the Titanic Quarter or staying on the bus for a scenic drive around the city before the tour concludes.
