Located in North Sligo, Benbulben is one of Ireland’s most famous and photographed mountains. Benbulben is home to a variety of wildlife and hosts a unique ecosystem, featuring three arctic-alpine plant species found nowhere else in Ireland. The mountain stands as a striking natural wonder, shaped over 320 million years offering visitors unbeatable views.

 

Benbulden is tied to rich folklore and history including the legendary Fianna warriors and the epic love story of Diarmuid and Gráinne. Join an expert guides as they bring Benbulben’s stories to life with a casual and engaging approach.

Additional Information

Hikers may be unable to join the group if not dressed suitably for mountainous terrain.

Please bring appropriate outdoor / hiking footwear and clothing.

Itinerary

  • Pick up at 9am at Luke's Bridge, Grange, Sligo.
  • Standard hike that covers 12km, includes a 500-metre climb, taking approximately 4-5 hours.
